Abstract

1,159,740. Spray producers. STRAHMAN VALVES Inc. 25 Sept., 1967 [24 Oct., 1966], No. 43509/67. Heading B2F. A hand-held water control fitting 10 comprises a plastic barrel 12 having a front and rear end, a tubular plastic handle 13 depending from the barrel and through which water passes to the barrel for discharge from the front end thereof, the barrel and handle being a one-piece moulding of high impact plastic, means for varying the blow of water comprising a metal orifice member 16 spaced inwardly from the front end of the plastic barrel, the plastic barrel being moulded about the orifice member and having an annular enlargement between the orifice member and the front end of the barrel. The barrel and handle may be moulded from nylon, and internal fitting may be of stainless steel, brass or bronze. The ends of the barrel may be provided with elastomeric, e.g. polyurethane, 'buffers 36 and 37 co-operating with annular heads on the barrel. Preferably the barrel is tapered to allow insertion of the fitting not moulded therein from the rear to be secured by screw plug 31.
