Abstract

1,158,949. Cabinets; joints. ALFRED IMHOF Ltd. 19 March, 1968 [23 March, 1967], No. 13771/67. Headings A4B and A4H. A framework for a cabinet or rack comprises rectangular end frames 1 joined between corresponding corners by angle section connecting bars 2, the frames 1 comprising members 4, 5 each formed with a longitudinal recess 6 and a longitudinal groove 7 opening at right angles to the recess 6 and the ends of the bars 2 being engaged in the recesses 6 of adjacent members 4, 5 and being secured by self tapping screws 16; passed through holes in the bars 2 and engaged in the grooves 7. L-shaped corner reinforcements 17 have ribs 18 engaged in further longitudinal grooves 12 in the members 4, 5. The bars 2 have castellations 14, 15. Castellated bracing bars 3 may be secured to and between upright members 4 of the frames 1. Top and bottom U-shaped covers 37, 38 are bolted to side panels 39. Front and rear doors or closure panels are fitted. Brackets 25, 26 are slidably mounted on the bars 2, 3 and locked by bolts 27, 31. The brackets 25, 26 carry an L-section support for partitions or fittings. A flange 13 on the member 4 carries fittings or partitions.
