1,158,797. Bearings; vibration dampers. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. 25 Sept., 1967, No. 43543/67. Headings F2A and F2S. [Also in Division H2] Axial vibrations in an electric motor are minimized by constituting as a damping element an oil retaining bush 3 attached to the motor shaft 1, and, with a guard plate 5 freely mounted on the shaft, disposed between a rotor core 2 and a bearing 4. The bush shown is of relatively flexible material e.g. rubber, but in other embodiments is of relatively inflexible material constructed to deform to provide the damping.
