Abstract

1,158,737. Bowden mechanisms; toothed gearing. H. T. GOLDE G.m.b.H. 5 Jan., 1967 [5 Jan., 1966], No. 810/67. Headings F2K and F2Q. A guide tube 2, for a screwthreaded cable 1 which is adapted to be moved axially on rotation of a toothed driving wheel 3, is constructed of a lightly carburized alloy which is hardened over the region AB of engagement between the cable 1 and driving wheel 3. The tube may also be hardened in the region of a bend. The tube 2 may be formed from strip material and have a longitudinal slot 6 and an adjacent tab 8 cut out to form an aperture to receive a driving wheel.
