Abstract
1,158,201. Transistor pulse circuits. LOSENHAUSENWERK DUSSELDORFER MASCHINENBAU A.G. 6 Jan., 1967 [7 Jan., 1966], No. 980/67. Heading H3T. In a system for generating polyphase pulses from a single phase source, e.g. for use in a dynamic balancing apparatus, a signal is provided by a frequency-determining stage 3 proportional to the frequency of the pulses from source 1 and is used to set the frequency of an oscillator 5 approximately to the required multiple of that of source 1, pulses from 1 or 3 being used to synchronize oscillator 5 to the exact multiple of frequency of source 1. Pulses from the oscillator 5 are fed to a ring counter 8 which provides 4-phase pulses on lines 10a ... 11b the frequency of which is reduced by bistable stages 12, 13. As described, pulses 1 may be derived by means of a photo-electric cell scanning a mark on a rotating body. The frequency-determining stage 3 may consist of a mono-stable circuit feeding a mean level rectifier. Fig. 3 shows the oscillator 5 in which capacitor 22 is charged via a constant current transistor 21 at a rate determined by the output from the measuring circuit 3, until the Shockley diode 28 breaks down, discharging capacitor 22 and terminating the cycle. The frequency is adjusted by resistor 33 so as to be approximately equal to the desired multiplication ratio and is synchronized by pulses from blocks 1 or 3 fed in via terminals 30 or 31. In Fig. 2 (not shown) capacitor 34 is replaced by diode 32. Components 8, 12 and 13 may be provided in duplicate or triplicate depending on whether a two-or three-phase application is required.
