Abstract
1353128 Signalling over power circuits ZELLWEGER Ltd 22 June 1972 [1 July 1971] 29322/72 Heading H4R In an apparatus for signalling over power lines P, O, an oscillatory circuit 2, 3, is excited, at a signalling frequency bearing a fixed relation to the power supply frequency, by an impulse delivered to the oscillator circuit once each cycle of the signalling frequency. The impulse sequence is derived from the power supply frequency by synchronizing a counter 20, with the power supply and feeding the counter output to a divider 24, the output from which feeds a pulse shaper 27 which preferably delivers a pulse sequence having a 1 : 3 mark space ratio to trigger transistor 5 feeding pulses into the oscillatory circuit 2, 3. Preferably the counter counts at 11 times the power supply frequency and the divider divides by 2. In a preferred circuit, Fig. 5 (not shown) the power supply frequency is fed into a phase splitter (38) the outputs from which are differentiated to synchronize a multivibrator (52) operating at 11 times power frequency, the multivibrator feeds an integrated circuit (24) which divides by 2, and the input and output signals of the divider circuit are combined in a diode logic circuit to produce the impulse sequence with 1 to 3 mark space ratio to feed transistor 5.
