Abstract

115,795. Green, R. E. Feb. 28, 1918. Motor, mounting or supporting.-The engine is mounted so that it can be slid forwards to engage a cross frame member round which it can be moved pivotally to an inverted position to facilitate repairs &c. The engine 1 is provided with flanges 2 resting on the frame members 3 and with a rack 6 engaged by a pinion 7, by means of which the engine can be moved forwards after removing the radiator 9. The front of the engine is fitted with pivoted clamps 11 for attachment to a cross-member 10 round which the engine can be swung. The rack 6 and pinion 7 may be replaced by a screw and nut. In a modification, the engine is pivoted to the cross-member without longitudinal movement.
