Waste fish flesh, obtained during the processing of frozen fish, is mechanically further comminuted to an amorphous homogeneous state similar to mincemeat, whilst substantially avoiding any rise in temperature, a suitable liquid, such as milk, and salt are added, and the mixture formed into desired shapes. Optionally, pieces of fruit or vegetable, such as onions, mushrooms, carrots, or olives, and also, spices, caviar, or large pieces of fish may be added to the mass.
