1,157,374. All-wheel-drive vehicles. GARRETT ENUMCLAW CO. 2 Nov., 1967, No. 49808/67. Heading B7H. In a tractor comprising front and rear frame sections 10, 11, each having two driven wheels and being pivoted respectively at 16, 17 to an apertured centre section 13 so as to be swingable by hydraulic rams 24, 26 and 25, 27 for steering, the vehicle engine and its speed-reducing mechanism (not shown) is on the front section 10 and drives the input shaft 37 of a transfer case 35, which has an output shaft 38 driving the front axle differential, and which drives via a brake drum 40 and a universal 39 three shafts 33 and 34, 30, and. 33 and 34 interconnected by universals 32 and driving via 36 the rear axle differential, the shaft sections 33 and 34 being telescopingly splined together. Both wheel axles are live, and one axle is fixed on its frame section, while the other is fixed on a cradle rotatable about a longitudinal axis on the other frame section.
