Abstract
1,156,958. Electrical discharge printing. HOGAN FAXIMILE. 21 July, 1967 [27 Oct., 1966], No. 33681/67. Heading B6C. [Also in Divisions C7 and D2] An electrolytic recording system comprises a recording sheet 10 passed between the ironcontaining stainless steel anode 11 and the platinum-iridium cathode 13 helically wound on to cylinder 12. The sheet is impregnated with catechol oxalate (o-phenylene oxalate). As the roller rotates, the point through which the current flows scans the paper, leaving a bluegreen mark on the white sheet, formed by reaction between the oxalate and iron ions from the anode, the intensity of the mark corersponding to the intensity of the current.
