Abstract

1,156,900. Isolating enzymes. ARZNEIMITTELWERK DRESDEN VEB. 14 June, 1968, No. 28422/68. Heading C3H. In a process for the isolation of microbially produced enzymes by precipitation with tannin, a biological fermentation solution is mixed with such an amount of soluble precipitatable protein that in the culture filtrate a coprecipitation of the said protein and the enzyme is achieved or the precipitation of the enzyme is completed, the specific activity of the isolated enzyme concentrate being adjusted by alteration of the amount of protein added. The added protein may be casein, milk, dried milk, whey, peptone, gelatin, oxygelatin or maize steep liquor. The co-precipitate may be freed from tannin with acetone. Examples of isolating protease and amylase from Aspergillus and Streptomyces species are given.
