Abstract

1,156,233. Thrust walls for grain drying buildings. J. J. RAINTHORPE. 21 Dec., 1967 [7 Jan., 1967], No. 1043/67. Heading F4G. A thrust wall for a building in which grain is dried comprises an inner perforated surface and an outer imperforate surface, the space between the surfaces being open to atmosphere such that it can act as an exhaust for the drying air. The wall may comprise a corrugated sheet between inner and outer sheets of light construction. As shown, the wall comprises inner perforated overlapping sheets 21 and outer corrugated sheets 22, the corrugations providing flues 23. The sheets 22 are secured to stanchions 24 by cleats 26 and the lengths of the wall between stanchions are secured at their tops to inverted channel sections 28.
