Abstract
1,156,051. Roller mills. HENRY SIMON Ltd. 24 May, 1967 [3 June, 1966], No. 24828/66. Heading B2E. [Also in Division E2l A door 12, Fig. 1, for the cabinet of a pair of back-to-back roller mills is hinged at its bottom edge and fastened by magnetic catches 13, Fig. 2. In the event of overload the door will burst open and protect the mechanism and prevent blockage of the ventilation. The magnetic catch 13 comprises an abutment surface 14 incorporating the permanent magnet, to engage the door, and a slot 15 which engages a clamp screw 16 and guide-pin 17. The door extends over the full width of the mill and the magnetic catches are adjusted so as to permit the door to be partially open and thus form a ventilation gap. As described the inlet to the lower part 4 of the grinding zone is an adjustable gap between the free top edge of the door 12, and the adjacent sill. The upper part of the cabinet includes a pivoted door 18, Figs. 1 and 3, with two adjustable stop blocks 26, which provide an adjustable opening between the back flange 20 of the door and the adjacent edge of the access opening. By adjusting screws 33, Fig. 4, the free edge of the door can be raised to provide an air-inlet of predetermined size.
