In a pusher ram system for pressing a face conveyer 11 of a mineral-mining installation against a mineral face 10 there is associated with each ram 15, 16 that acts on the conveyer a lost motion device that will allow of limited movement of sections of the conveyer towards and away from the anchorages of the rams associated with each section as a mining machine moves along the face whilst guided by the conveyer. Each lost motion device is, preferably, a telescopic member that is biassed to an extended condition and may be positioned between an associated ram and either the conveyer section or the anchorage associated with the ram.
