1,155,788. Wrapping-machines. B. FABBRI. 15 Sept., 1966, No. 41343/66. Heading B8C. A machine seals the ends of thermoplastics tubular wrappers each containing an article S by lowering a severing and sealing head W into a mating channel G. The articles S are already enclosed in a tube of the wrapping material, which is fed continuously, the head W and channel G moving with the tube while cutting and sealing the tube at the gap N1 between the articles S. In order to restrict the length of the sealing weld WL, gussets are formed in the wrapper by jets of compressed air &c. from the nozzles B, B1.
