1,154,748. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. IDEAL-STANDARD Ltd. Dec. 12, 1967 [Sept.27, 1966], No.43192/66. Heading G3P. In a gas valve, when all the pilot valves 12-14 are open the main valve 8 is moved to the open position by inlet pressure, and an auxiliary valve 17 is maintained in a closed position by inlet pressure acting on diaphragm 19. If one or more of the pilot valves closes, e.g. in response to flame failure, a thermostat or a time clock, pressure builds up in leak circuit 10, 21, 22, via orifice 9 in main valve diaphragm 7, and also in chambers 8, 20. At a predetermined pressure in chamber 20, valve 17 opens to connect chamber 8 to the inlet to close the main valve. During subsequent opening of the leak circuit by the pilot valves, valve 17 closes before the main valve opens. In a modification orifice 9 is omitted and an orifice is provided in diaphragm 19, and restriction 25 is replaced by a check valve.
