Heading C2C. 5,7 - Dichloro - 8 - hydroxy - quinoline or 5,7- dichloro-8-hydroxy-quinaldine is made by chlorinating a solution of 8-hydroxy quinoline and 8- hydroxy quinaldine in chloroform with a molar excess of chlorine in the presence of 0À5-5% wt. of iodine.
