1,154,340. Composite still or cine films. V.L.A. MARGUTTI. Oct. 23, 1967 [Dec. 24, 1966; Dec.30, 1966], Nos. 57855/66 and 58309/66. Heading G2C. Composite cine or still colour pictures are made by preparing a matte print of the foreground action by the process of Specification 787, 759, and then preparing separate red and green separation positive prints of the matte print, exposing a colour negative film to a positive print of the background in a bi-pack with the foreground matte print, re-exposing the film to the red separation print through a red filter, and to the green separation print through a green filter and then through a blue filter. Separate red, green and blue separation prints may be made from a matte print of the background, and the colour negative film may be exposed, to each of these in turn in bi-pack with the foreground matte print, through a filter of the corresponding colour. Alternatively, the film may be exposed to a single 'inter-positive' print of the background.
