Abstract

1,154,036. Load handling pallets; jocks. CLARES (WELLS) Ltd. 26 Aug., 1966 [26 Aug., 1965],No. 36780/65. Headings B8H and B8J. A load-supporting pallet comprises a base frame built from side tubes 10, 10 with a front bar 11 and a rear bar 12; a tubular back frame built to inverted U form 14 is provided, the base and back frames being respectively covered with wire mesh 13, 15. The rear frame 14 lies back at an angle of about 5 degrees from the vertical when the base frame is horizontal. An extension handle 14a may be fitted. The rear end of the base frame is above ground level, leaving a gap 17 for the insertion of the toe or support of a two-wheeled hand trolley. Angled plates 16 are fitted at the rear of and below each tube 10. The sloping back assists in tilting when the trolley back is lowered, and also assists in movement of the pallet manually, angled heel members 16 and strengthening plates 18 being provided.
