Abstract

A solid fuel fire has a pivoted drop-down lower front panel 6, which in the closed position (Fig. 1), covers an ashpit cover 8, and an aeration control flap 10 operated manually by lever 11 or thermostatically. The panel 6 is horizontal in its lower position. The heat radiating portion of the fire is covered by a transparent or translucent window 5 and is surrounded by removable panels 2, 3, 4 bounded by an outer casing 1 of wood.
