Abstract

1,152,432. Agricultural implements; hitches. SISIS EQUIPMENT (MACCLESFIELD) Ltd. 20, May, 1966 [24 Feb., 1965], No. 7887/65. Headings A1B and A1P. A turf working apparatus comprises a weight transfer implement hitch having a frame adapted to be connected to a wheeled towing vehicle, and means enabling a ground working implement to be attached thereto, the hitch further including means for resiliently loading the implement and additional resilient means connected between a fixed anchorage and a part of the hitch movable with the implement to act against said resilient loading means to thereby assist in raising the implement manually for transport. As illustrated the hitch comprises a frame 12, a rotatable shaft 14 having quadrants 17 thereon, and compression and tension springs 23, 27. A manually operable lever 16 includes a pawl engageable with a quadrant 25. When the lever is raised an adjustable load is applied to the implement by the springs 23, and when lowered the tension spring 27 assists in raising the implement. The tension spring may be replaced by a telescopic compression stay 30 (Fig. 3) pivotally connected to the arm 26 so as to permit the stay to load the implement or to assist in raising the implement when the lever 16 is raised or lowered from an intermediate position.
