In a vehicle seat, which is tiltable forwardly as a whole about, its front leg frame 7, to allow access to the rear of a passenger compartment, the seat is prevented from being moved to its tilted position, by the engagement of a pivotable latch 15 with a fixed abutment 18. The latch is pivoted by depressing button 25 against the tension of a spring 22. On lifting rack 10 to free pin 12, the inclination of leg frame 7 may be altered to vary the fore and aft adjustment of the seat.
