Abstract

Heading A5R [Also in Divisions A3 and B5] A disposable diaper sanitary pad or wound dressing 1 has a pouch 8 defined by the back . sheet 4 and a further sheet of impervious material 5 which may be integral with or attached to the back sheet 4 the pouch being reversible after use of the diaper to 3 enclose within it the soiled absorbent pad. The absorbent ipad 3 is preferably one or more plies of cellulo- _ sic sheeting e.g. paper or non woven fabric or may 'be of comminuted wood pulp "fluff" or loosely associated cotton fibres. The cover sheet 2 may be. of wet strength tissue paper, non-woven fabric or applique sheeting of scrim having short length fibres adhesively bonded to it. The back sheet 4 may be of any suitable impervious suipple material, thin plastic sheeting, e.g. polyethylene, polypropylene, ethylene-acrylate copolymer, ethylene-propylene copolymer, or vinyl chloride polymer or copolymer being preferred.
