Abstract

115,063. Heyes, C. April 12, 1917. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Packing cylindrical articles.-Relates to apparatus for fitting protecting rings over the driving bands of projectiles, and comprises (1) a cover or shield C embracing the part of the projectile B in front of the band D, and (2) a ring A provided with handles a<2> for forcing the protecting rings E down the projectile and over the band D, and with adjustable legs a<4> adapted to bear against a table T to stop the downward movement when the protecting ring is in the correct position. The protecting ring is removed, when required, by a reverse action of the apparatus.
