Abstract
1,150,384. Moisture sensors. DYCHURCH BUSINESS SERVICES Ltd. Nov.10, 1967 [ Aug. 19, 1966], No.37246/66. Heading G1N. [Also in Division H1] A moisture-sensitive transducer comprises a central rod electrode 1 Fig. 1 surrounded by a cylindrical electrode 2, separated by a nylon bush 3. The transducer is fed with a D. C. voltage and the current flowing between the electrodes, when moisture settles on the exposed end, is amplified to energize a relay when it reaches a predetermined value. The device is mounted on a car to energize the windscreen wipers when it rains, and to energize heater windings (not shown) in bush 3, to facilitate drying it.
