Abstract

1,150,129. Moulded foam-rubber. CONTINENTAL GUMMI-WERKE A.G. 10 April, 1967 [15 April, 1966], No. 16278/67. Heading B5A. [Also in Division C3] Moulded open-pore foam rubber articles are produced by charging into a mould a foamed latex dispersion or a latex dispersion foamable by the addition of inflating agents, which dispersions may show slight shrinkage on coagulation, with alkali-metal silicofluorides as coagulating agents, whereby coagulation is initiated by heat supplied from a flat surface of the mould and either shortly before or after coagulation has occurred the mould is heated to vulcanization temperature. The examples describe the production of moulded foamed butadiene-styrene synthetic rubber.
