[Also in Division C3] In a process for produced moulded foam products the distortion of the mould due to the application of super-atmospheric or sub-atmospheric pressure to the interior of the mould is compensated by the application to the outside of a major face of the mould, e.g. the lid, of super-atmospheric or sub-atmospheric fluid pressure respectively. To obtain a rubber latex moulding the foamed or foamable composition is fed to a mould and foamed if necessary. The foam is expanded with the aid of sub-atmospheric pressure in the mould, set by freezing, gelled by introducing carbon dioxide gas and vulcanized, the vulcanization at least being carried out under super-atmospheric pressure, the bowing of the mould wall during the steps in which sub- or super-atmospheric pressure is applied to the interior of the mould being compensated for by application of sub- or superatmospheric fluid pressure to the outside. The mould wall has a pressure compensating chamber on its outer surface.
