Abstract
1,149,978. Capacitors. SIEMENS A.G. 27 Oct., 1966 [28 Oct., 1965], No. 48204/66. Heading H1M. Leads 2, 3 of the wound capacitor shown are connected in the active part of the capacitor coil, the capacitor being end-mounted on a printed circuit board 1, and one lead 3 is conducted through the hollow core of the capacitor and anchored to the board by notched out portion 4 prior to soldering. The installed height of the capacitor is thus kept to a minimum, sufficient length of lead is retained to allow dissipation of heat from the soldering operation and prevent damage to the capacitor, and the capacitor is mechanically stable. The capacitor dielectric may be a foil of relaxable material which firmly secures the central lead when it shrinks. Both leads may be brought through the core if they are insulated from each other.
