Abstract

1,149,566. Blasting. ST. GEORGES ENG. Ltd. 18 Sept., 1967 [16 June, 1966; 14 Feb., 1967], Nos. 27028/66 and 6897/67. Heading B3D. An abrasive resistant lining for the walls of the blasting chamber of an abrasive blasting machine is formed of a series of rows (horizontal and vertical) of square or rectangular tiles, the tiles in each row being spaced apart and the spaces between the rows being covered by a series of tiles of cruciform shape, the arms of which are of a width greater than the space between adjacent tiles, the ends of adjacent arms either overlapping or " making-up " members being employed to cover the part of such aforesaid space as is not covered by an arm of a cruciform tile. A blasting chamber is lined with abrasion resistant square or rectangular tiles A, Fig. 1, e.g. of metal, in spaced horizontal and vertical rows. The spaces are covered by cruciform members B. The arms of adjacent members overlap; the ends of two of the arms on each member are raised so as to overlie the arms on adjacent members. In a modification, Fig. 4, the arms of the member B are of channel section, and flat pieces C make up the spaces between adjacent arms. Alternatively, Fig. 7, the arms of the member B are flat and the make up pieces C are of channel section.
