[Also in Division A5] The invention comprises allyl #-phenyl propionates of the general formula in which R is an alkyl group and n is an integer from 0 to 3. The allyl esters may be prepared by reacting an alkyl ester of a #-phenyl propionic acid with allyl alcohol in the presence of a transesterification catalyst.
