Abstract
1,148,748. Amplitude modulation. CSFCOMPAGNIE GENERALE DE TELEGRAPHIE SANS FIL. 14 June, 1966 [15 June, 1965], No. 26572/66. Heading H3R. A circuit for varying the amplitude of an A.C. signal in accordance with a control signal inchides at least one field effect transistor 17. The A.C. signal is applied between the source and drain electrodes via a transformer 9, a resistor 16 being included to introduce asymmetry into the circuit. With no control signal on lead 12, the resistor 26 and capacitors 24, 25 are adjusted to give no output on lead 27. Application of a control signal on lead 12 then produces an A.C. output having its amplitude dependent on that of the control signal. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), two field effect transistors are used in push-pull.
