Abstract
1,148,600. Internally-meshing gear pumps. O. ECKERLE. Aug. 23, 1966 [Aug. 23, 1965], No. 37757/66. Heading F1F. An internally-meshing gear pump comprising a driven pinion 2, Fig. 1, and a co-rotating floatingly mounted internally toothed ring gear 3 with a filler piece 6 swingably mounted on a pin 5 therebetween, includes a pressure relieved control piston 18 oscillatably supported on a pin 19 and spring-loaded compensating piston 23, 23a to urge the ring gear, filler piece and pinion into engagement with one another to take up wear and without too much friction. Pressure fluid from the highpressure side of the pump passes through radial ports 26 in the ring gear 3 into a relieving zone 17 to counterbalance the high-pressure fluid passing to the discharge port 29 through passages 27, 28 and acting on the rear faces of the pistons 23, 23a. The pin 5 is supported in slide blocks 7, 7a, Fig. 3, each of which is guided in a slot in axial end plates 9, 9a supported by pins 10, 11, 10a, 11a secured in bones in the pump casing and its cover. Recesses in the end plates 9, 9a approximately to the shape of the pump pressure chamber between the pinion and ring gear mount similarly shaped pistons 14, 14a having flanges 15, 15a which seal against the pinion, ring gear and filler piece to seal the pump pressure chamber; pressure fluid from the pump chamber being admitted to behind the pistons through bores (not shown). To remove any tilting moments acting on the filler piece the resultant force R perpendicular to the sealing surface Q on the filler piece between the teeth 30, 31 passes through the axis of the pin 5 and incisions 37 cut on either side of the filler piece 6 also ensures that the resultant force acting on the sealing surface between the teeth 35, 38 passes through the axis of the pin. A groove 32 cut in the filler piece equalizes the pressure in the tooth spaces 33, 34. The provision of the two compensating pistons 23, 23a relieves bending on the control piston 18.
