Abstract

1,147,543. Ammonium molybdate. PRZE. DSIEBIORSTHO PRZEMYSLOWO-HAND. LOWE POLSKIE ODCZYNNIKI CHEMICZNE. 23 March, 1967 [28 March, 1966], No. 13699/67. Heading C1A. An ammonium molybdate solution is purified by adding a suspension of a stannic hydroxide. The solution may be obtained by precipitating molybdic acid from a crude ammonium molybdate solution with HNO 3 and redissolving the precipitate in ammonia. The Sn(OH) 4 may be obtained by adding H 2 O 2 to a solution of SnSO 4 in H 2 SO 4 . The coagulated precipitate of the Sn(OH) 4 containing adsorbed impurities is separated off, and crystals of ammonium molybdate are obtained from the pure solution, e.g. by adding methanol or ethanol.
