Abstract
1,147,409. Trailer coupling arrangements. OTTO RIEHLE STUTTGART. 12 Oct., 1967 [12 Oct., 1966], No. 46633/67. Heading B7T. A trailer coupling arrangement on a private motor car comprises a coupling ball 3 carried by a neck 4 on which is welded a draw catch 11 which is detachably secured in a housing 5, 6 welded to a holder 1 made fast beneath the rear of the car, wherein a spring-urged bolt 13 engages an eye 12 in the catch 11 and a bore 26 in the housing 5, 6 to effect the detachable securing, and a spring-urged securing pin locks the bolt by engaging a recess 29 therein. The draw catch 11 has lateral flanges which engage slots formed in the housing at the welded junction of the upper and lower parts 6, 5 of the housing, so as to prevent rotation of the neck 4. The lower end of the bolt guide 17 is laterally supported at 19 from the housing.
