Abstract

1,147,148. Air cooled condensers. MASCHINENBAU A.G. BALCKE. 19 Dec., 1966 [28 Dec., 1965], No. 56717/66. Heading F4S. An air cooled vapour condenser comprises a vapour distributer 1 above a condensate collector 3 and connected thereto by rows a, b, c of tubes 2 and a further row d of tubes 6 shorter, e.g. 1/3 the length of, tubes 2, connected to collector 3 in front of tubes 2 in the direction of air flow 9 and either, as shown, joined to distributer 1 via a smaller distributer 10 and a conduit 7 fitted with a throttle arrangement 8 or joined to an air discharge device (5A), (Fig. 2, not shown), so that vapour introduced into tubes 6 prevents freezing of the tubes 2.
