Abstract

1,146,528. Receiving sheet for silver salt diffusion transfer. EASTMAN KODAK CO. May 12, 1966 [May 17, 1965], No.21020/66. Heading G2C. A photographic receiving sheet for the silver salt diffusion transfer process comprises a support bearing on one side thereof two layers containing silver precipitants, wherein the layer nearest the support is white or light-coloured and is opaque to light. The opacifier may be T 1 O 2 , ZnO or BaSO 4 . The silver precipitants may be colloidal Ag, Au, Pt, Pd or Hg, sulphides of Zn, Ag, Ni, Pb, Sb, Cd or Bi and complex salts thereof with thioacetamide, dithio-oxamide or dithiobiuret, selenides, thiourea, stannous salts and fogged silver halide. The B opaque layer may be opacified by vesicles, crystallization on blushing with a non-solvent during manufacture.
