Abstract

1,145,823. Wearing apparel. M. AGOPIAN. 15 March,. 1966 [16 March, 1965], No. 11016/65. Heading A3V. A set of garment panels comprises two or more complementary panels fastened together at their edges by detachable means, such as buttons, sliding clasp fasteners, link buttons or ribbons, to make up a complete garment and at least one additional panel interchangeable with a corresponding one of the complementary panels and differing from it in colour, material, pattern or texture so that by interchanging the panels the appearance of the garment within the chosen style may be changed. The complementary panels may also be interchangeable with each other and of different colours and/or of different materials from each other and they may be bound along their detachably connected edges in a contrasting material. Suggested materials for the panels are tweed, corduroy and leather. A skirt, a dress with integral sleeves and without and a jacket to which the invention can be applied are illustrated in Figs. 1-3 and each consists of panels buttoned together. In another embodiment (not shown) the lower portion of a skirt is formed from panels detachable from each other and from the upper portion of the skirt. Other garments to which the invention may be applied include coats, tunics and jerkins.
