Abstract
1,145,782. Laminated panels. DENTIN MFG. CO. 14 April, 1966, No. 16353/66, Heading B5N. A panel structure comprises a pair of rigid pan-like bodies 10a, 11a formed of glass fibres and polyester resin, said bodies having inwardlyturned rims 12a, 13a in facing reared relation, a honeycomb core enclosed between said panlike bodies and bonded thereto, and glass fibres and polyester resin between said rims integrally bonding them together. Suitably the rim 12a of one panel is straight, whilst the other 13a is inclined outwardly. A high-pressure laminate 106, e.g. a thermosetting resin laminate having paper sheets impregnated with phenolic resin, the top sheets being a patterned sheet and a cover sheet impregnated with melamine-formaldehyde may be bonded to the top side of the panel. The honeycomb core is suitably formed of paper impregnated with phenolic resin and may be joined to the polyester sheets by polyester resin adhesive.
