An emergency support ring for a tubeless tyre 2 comprises arcuate segments 3 of I section each secured to the rim 1a by a screw and carrying springs 6a spread by wedge portions 3f to press the tyre beads 2a against the rim flanges 1. During assembly of the segments to the rim, the springs are located and held by waisted parts 3g.
