Abstract

1,144,593. Making ventilation ducts. SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN A.B. 9 June, 1966 [9 June, 1965], No. 25700/66. Heading B3A. A rectangular ventilation duct is formed by joining two metal strips (3), (4), Fig. 1 (not shown), in parallel to form a single web blank which is cut transversely and the cut-off portion folded transversely so that the joint between the strips extends around the periphery of the duct. The strips (3), (4) are longitudinally grooved by rollers (5) and their adjacent edges folded by rollers (6) into complementary S- shapes which are interengaged and folded together. The free edges of the resultant web are folded by rollers (8) to form flanges 12. The web is cut transversely (9) and the cut-off portion folded transversely, with the grooves 11 and joint 10 extending around the periphery of the duct and the longitudinal edge joined together. Adjacent ducts are joined together by shaped rails pushed over a pair of adjacent flanges. An elastic strip may be placed between the adjacent faces 12a.
