Abstract

1,144,475. Seals. V. LANGEN, [trading as A. EHRENREICH & CIE]. 2 June, 1966 [3 June, 1965], No.24583/66. Heading F2B. A sealing boot for a ball-and-socket joint comprises an elastomeric hollow casing 1<SP>1</SP> open at both ends and having at least two concentric annular corrugations 3, 3d, 3<SP>1</SP>d formed in the casing wall. The corrugated part of the casing wall is thinner than the rest of the casing. In use, one end 6<SP>1</SP> of the casing engages the joint housing and the other end 9 embraces the joint pin and the end 9 may have an extension sleeve 10 that abuts the pin ball head 11. The casing may be of polyurethane.
