Abstract

1,143,962. Resistance heaters. SANTON Ltd. 7 Nov., 1966 [6 Aug., 1965; 28 April, 1966], Nos. 33670/65 and 18687/66. Heading H5H. The terminations of a multi-element heater 4 are encapsulated in epoxy resin. The multiple elements 4 are mounted upon a plate 3 and attached to anchorage portions 10 of terminals 5 (Figs. 2, 3, not shown). Two resin bonded tubes 8, 9 are mounted concentrically upon the plate 3 to enclose the terminations and the space between them is filled with a mixture of resin, e.g. Araldite (R.T.M.), hardener and silica flour filler, which is then cured by baking. The rear surface 11 of the terminal portion 10 is curved to allow the resin to flow freely and prevent air pockets; alternatively it may be triangular in cross-section.
