Abstract
1,143,821. Woven fabrics. DOMINION CORSET CO., Ltd. 28 June, 1966 [12 Feb., 1966], No. 28961/66. Heading D1K. A reversible woven fabric, particularly for use in brassieres, corsets and other foundation garments, has stiffening weftwise ribs 22, 24 on the two sides respectively. These ribs are each formed by a core of three picks 26, 28, 30 or 44, 46, 48 covered by four cover picks 32, 34, 36, 38 or 50, 52, 54, 56. These wefts are interwoven together with locking picks 42, 58, 40 by warps A, B, C, the warps A & B being interwoven with both the core cover picks and the locking picks while the warp C is interwoven with the locking picks only, being floated over the core picks. The warps preferably repeat in a sequence of four in the order A-C-B-C. Both warp and weft may be of cotton threads of equal size.
