Abstract

1,142,374. Plate cylinders. V. CANNAROZZI [trading as CANVIT di VITTORIO CANNAROZZI]. 3 June, 1966 [5 June, 1965; 26 Jan., 1966], No. 24839/66. Heading B6C. A printing cylinder for use with printing plates made of or incorporating magnetic material comprises concentric metal and plastics sleeves 7, 8, and a series of annular members disposed coaxially about the sleeves to constitute the cylindrical body of the printing cylinder, said series having steel annular members 9 and permenently magnetized annular members 10 disposed alternately in the axial direction. The members 9 may be in the form of rings whilst the members 10 each comprise a plurality of separate segments which may engage at their ends so as to permit radial pivoting, whereby they may be fitted to cylinders of different diameters.
