[Also in Division F2] A device for supporting and guiding flexible cables or the like 9 between a stationary outlet and a movable appliance comprises a pair of spaced parallel supports 2 interconnected by retainers 3, 4 between which the cables 9 are housed, the components 5 of the supports 2 being pivotable relative to one another through a desired angle and the bearing torque applied to one component 5 by an adjacent component 5 having a lever arm greater than half the overall height of the support 2. Each component 5 comprises a tubular member 6 from which two diverging struts 7 extend, the ends of struts of adjacent components being pivotally connected. Tongues extending from the ends of the tubular members 6 are located in the tubular member of adjacent components 5 for rigidity of the support 2 over the straight selfsupporting runs. Lugs on the tongues of adjacent components engage during the curved run to limit the relative pivoted movement of the components. The space in which the cables are carried between the supports 2 is divided into separate longitudinal channels by flat links removably supported between the retainers 3, 4. U-shaped shields seat over the ends of adjacent tubular members 6 to cover the gap therebetween during opening and closing as the components pass around a curve. In the embodiment of Fig. 4 (not shown) the pivotal connections between the struts are connected together by links. In the embodiment of Figs. 10-12 (not shown), each component comprises a pair of elongated discs; one end of each of which is dished and these ends are connected back to back with a disc supported therebetween. The remote end of the component is then forked. The dished ends are pivotally connected in the dished ends of adjacent components arcuate slots in the dished ends receiving pins on the forked ends to limit relative pivoting movement.
