In a mounting for resiliently supporting a tractor seat on a rearwardly inclined guide column 4, having a guide arm 3 for the front of the seat, guide tracks 7, for rollers 5 secured to the rear of the seat back, are positioned vertically in the column 4. The seat is detachably secured to roller carrying support slide (6), having an extension 29 attached to the lower ends of damper 20 and coil springs (23). The upper end of the damper 20 is attached to fixed ears 26 and the upper ends of springs (23) to inverted T-bar (24), which is vertically adjustable by means of nut 9. On removing the seat from the slide (6), it can be supported in a raised position by the engagement of projection 30 with the top of column 4.
