Abstract
113,865. Hilger, Ltd., A., and Merton, T. R. March 31, 1917. Pyrometers.-A radiation pyrometer comprises two radiation measures in the form of thermopiles T', T<2> lenses O<1>, O<2> in tubes L<1>, L<2> for throwing on to the thermopiles radiations from the source the temperature of which is to be measured, and means for producing a difference between the radiations falling on the thermopiles, the difference between or the ratio of the E.M.F's. produced indicating the temperature. The difference between the radiations may be caused by the provision of two filters S<1>, S<2>, one red and the other green, or by the provision of one filter only, the intensity of the unfiltered beam in the latter case being compensated for by reducing its size. A telescope L<3> may be provided to enable the instrument to be adjusted so that identical images are produced on the thermopiles.
