Abstract

1,138,612. Hydraulic apparatus; reciprocating pumps and motors. MOLINS MACHINE CO. Ltd. March 8, 1966 [March 9, 1965], No. 10017/65. Headings F1A and F1P. A hydraulic pump 4 and its delivery pipe 6 are enclosed by plastic sheaths 19, 20 which collect leakage and return it through a plastic pipe 22 to a supply tank 1 to which is also returned leakage from a space 15 between glands 13, 14 of a hydraulic motor 2 and from the metal joints of a reversing valve 3 through sheaths 23, 24 surrounding motor feed pipes 8, 9 and a leakage return pipe 26. The so-drained fluid is collected in cups 29 each having a drain orifice 30 and being supported by a spring 31 which at a given rate of leakage collapses to close a switch which closes an alarm circuit. In a modification the leakage return pipes include a V-shaped sight glass.
