Abstract

1,137,583. Ladle nozzles. ORISSA CEMENT Ltd., and S. MOITRA. 30 March, 1966 [30 March, 1965], No. 14165/66. Heading F4B. A ladle nozzle comprises an outer shell of rammed fired fireclay with an inner lining of rammed chemically bonded magnesite, the inner face of the fireclay shell being serrated, roughened or recessed. The outer shell is fired at 1200‹-1800‹ C., preferably 1400‹ C., the magnesite being rammed in situ and the nozzle dried. It may be cylindrical (Fig. 1) or frustoconical (Fig. 2) with a flared inlet. Suitable compositions for the materials are:- Fireclay Magnesite Al 2 O 3 ) 36% MgO 85-88% SiO 2 51% SiO 2 5.5%max. Fe 2 O 3 3% CaO 2.5%max. TiO 2 1.5% FeO 2-4% Alkalis 2.5%
