Abstract

1,137,287. Tee connector. F. J. CONSTABLE and N. K. WALSH. 17 July, 1967 [24 Aug., 1966], No. 37956/66. Heading E2F [Also in divisions A1 and F2] A Tee connector comprises a socket stem 10, Fig. 4 rigidly securing a wire 3 and a crosspiece having two cylindrical portions 11, 12 rotatably supporting a second wire 2, the socket and cylindrical portion being connected by a flat portion against the flat side and edge 15 of which a loop 14 abuts to limit the rotation of wire 2 in each direction. In an application to a crop guard Fig. 1 (not shown) end arches (2, 4) are joined to a central wire (3) by Tee-connectors (6) so that the end arches can be folded flat to facilitate packing. The end arches have, loops (7) which limit the depth the legs can penetrate in the ground and also prevent the netting (5) riding over the frame. The netting is a sleeve e.g. of polypropylene, extruded polythene mesh, polythene sheet, nylon or transparent or translucent sheet. The open ends of the arch may be closed by similarly-shaped arches each covered by a netting bag.
